Who operates ReadyStudy
ReadyStudy operates the ReadyStudy app and website. ReadyStudy is a parent-first study companion: adults manage learning content and quizzes on behalf of children, and children do not create ReadyStudy accounts. This policy explains the information ReadyStudy collects, why it is used, and the choices available to families.
Information we collect
- Parent account information: email address, display name, account identifier, authentication information, and profile details received through Clerk or an optional Google, Apple, or Facebook sign-in.
- Child profile information: the name, grade level, and language an authorized parent or guardian provides.
- Learning content: lesson photos, PDFs, typed text, chats, generated summaries, tags, quizzes, questions, answers, and explanations.
- Learning activity: quiz attempts, answers, scores, completion times, attempt duration, and lesson or AI feature usage.
- Subscription information: subscription status, entitlement, and purchase history. ReadyStudy does not receive full payment-card details.
- Family and child-device information: family membership, role and invite records; pairing and assignment records; a hashed child-device token; optional device label; and the device's last-seen time.
- Technical and security information: service request details, account and device identifiers used by the service, AI model and token usage, error information, and an IP address used to rate-limit public pairing requests and protect against abuse.
ReadyStudy also stores limited preferences and credentials on the device. Session and child-device tokens use secure device storage; selections, tutorials, and a pre-signup child-profile draft may use local app storage.
How we use it
- Authenticate parents, maintain accounts, and support optional social sign-in.
- Create child profiles, lesson libraries, quizzes, and learning-history views.
- Process lesson and chat content with AI to extract, organize, search, and generate material.
- Create lesson embeddings for account-scoped search and quiz grounding.
- Pair parent-managed child devices and deliver quizzes assigned to that child.
- Operate subscriptions, restore purchases, enforce plan limits, and measure AI costs.
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain reliability.
- Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
AI processing
Lesson and chat content may be sent to AI services to provide the feature requested. Photos attached to saved lessons are stored with the lesson. A photo attached only to a chat is sent for that AI response but is not saved by ReadyStudy as a chat attachment. Extracted lesson text may be converted into a numerical embedding stored with the child's identifier so ReadyStudy can find relevant lessons. AI-generated material can be inaccurate and should be reviewed by a parent or guardian.
Service providers
ReadyStudy uses service providers to operate the product: Clerk for authentication; Google, Apple, or Facebook when a parent selects that sign-in method; Cloudflare for hosting, request processing, databases, file storage, AI processing, and vector search; RevenueCat and the applicable app store for subscriptions; and an AI model provider selected by ReadyStudy when the configured model is not hosted by Cloudflare. These providers receive only the information needed for their role and process it under their own terms and privacy commitments.
ReadyStudy does not sell personal information, display behavioral advertising, or track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. ReadyStudy does not use child learning content for advertising.
Children and family sharing
ReadyStudy is designed to be used by parents on behalf of their children. Children do not create their own accounts, do not provide their own contact information, and access assigned quizzes only through a parent-managed Kids Mode session or paired device. A parent or legal guardian controls each child profile and may review or delete its content. Do not create a child profile unless you are authorized to provide that child's information.
When an account owner invites another adult to a family account, that adult can access the shared child profiles, lessons, quizzes, chats, and learning history. Account owners are responsible for inviting only authorized guardians. Data is not shared between unrelated family accounts.
Retention and deletion
We retain account data and saved learning content while your account remains active so your library and quiz history continue to work. You can delete individual child profiles and lessons in the app. You can permanently delete your account from Settings; this removes the account's child profiles, lessons, uploaded originals, quizzes, attempts, chats, embeddings, paired devices, family memberships, and ReadyStudy's RevenueCat customer record.
Pairing codes become invalid after 10 minutes and family invite codes become invalid after 24 hours. ReadyStudy may retain a one-way hash of a deleted account identifier to prevent accidental reprovisioning. Limited transaction, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or legal records may be retained when necessary, and app-store transaction records remain subject to Apple or Google's retention. App-store subscriptions must be cancelled separately. See Delete your accountfor instructions and an outside-the-app request path.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including authenticated access and account-scoped storage. No system is completely secure. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to processing of, or delete personal information. Parents and guardians may make these requests for information associated with their family account. Contact us from the email address used for ReadyStudy so we can verify the request.
Changes to this policy
ReadyStudy may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated, and additional notice will be provided when required.
